In order to save the costs of making Ubot or Kobiax molds, low quality materials that are sensitive to sunlight are often used. While during implementation, they may be exposed to the sun for several days and the rebars may be damaged during transportation and installation. The damages and fractures of the forms may cause the concrete to enter into the forms and increase the dead load of the roof contrary to the calculations.

In the implementation of hollow slabs such as Yobot and Kubiax, a part of the middle concrete of the slab is removed, but the tensile concrete is not removed. By using the waffle mold, in addition to the intermediate concrete, part of the tensile concrete is also removed. For this reason, the waffle roof needs about 20% less concrete than the hollow roof. In other words, 200 kg less concrete is used per square meter, which is very important from an economic and technical point of view.

Due to the fact that waffle molds can be used several times, compared to in-situ molds, they cost less to run per square meter of the roof.
